Featured Programs

  • The Sacramento Urban Technology Lab (SUTL) is where government, academia and industry collaborate to transform Sacramento into that of a living laboratory for entrepreneurs, advanced technology businesses, and academic institutions to test, develop, and scale their ideas, products, and services.

  • ATOS Labs is a public-private consortium of government agencies and connected and autonomous vehicle technology companies working in partnership to co-develop interoperable protocols and standards. This work will soon enable the Sacramento Region to become a leading proving ground for the safe testing and deployment of these technologies.

  • Sacramento is creating a foundation for creative, nimble partnerships that can improve City services, meet adopted City goals, and provide public benefit. The City's Demonstration Partnerships Policy provides a framework for innovative demonstration partnerships, allowing the City to test, evaluate, and demonstrate innovative solutions.

  • The City has been working with Verizon for the past year to install small cell towers on more than 200 street lights. Using high-frequency waves transmitted from the towers, 5G wireless offers data speeds similar to traditional fiber cable technology. Eventually available as free Wi-Fi in 27 parks, the network will expand digital access for underserved communities.

  • Electrify America and the City of Sacramento announced new projects that will increase access to zero-emissions vehicles (ZEV) in the Sacramento region, expand ZEV technology use, and prepare the City for future electric vehicle adoption.
