Soofa
Soofa is a female founded, venture backed, MIT spinout focused on communication, data, building community and smarter placemaking.
Soofa started as an idea at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and its three female founders spun out in late 2014, raising a $1M seed round of funding to build dynamic, beautifully designed, human-centered infrastructure for cities to communicate with and engage citizens. Soofa has since deployed smart urban furniture, including its flagship solar powered smart park bench, in nearly 100 cities in the United States and six countries globally.
In May 2017, it launched the Soofa Sign, the first of its kind outdoor digital community bulletin board. The Sign is deployed in numerous cities and counties in the United States including Atlanta, GA, Boston, MA, Miami, FL, Eastvale, CA, and more.
