Heat Seek is a non-profit civic technology company dedicated to bringing innovative tech solutions to the traditionally analogue non-profit sector. We work with building owners, housing advocates, tenant organizers, and tenants themselves to provide objective, reliable temperature data to ensure that buildings are meeting the temperature standards set forth in NYC's housing code.
A low cost, web-connected temperature sensor with 3G modem & data plan. Sensors are programmed to take temperature readings once per hour, and the accompanying Heat Seek web app integrates outdoor temperature and time of day to automatically calculate whether a building is in violation of NYC housing code. Sensors can mesh, or be configured as point-to-point radios in poor RF environments.
