Energy consumption in major cities of the word is increasing day by day. In every city, considerable amount of electricity is being used for the purpose of street lighting system. Some areas of the city may have low frequency of people and vehicle movement, but it's observed that the amount of energy the streetlights consume in these areas is same as that of areas with high frequency people and vehicle movement. As a result, enormous amount of energy is wasted without being used. Usage of LED based lamps allows Internet of Technology (IoT) based systems to automate the streetlights switching on and switching off processes. Additionally, the intensity can be altered based on the need such as people and vehicle movement
