Cognata Smart Cities is a digital twin and traffic simulation platform that models urban environments for municipal planning and road safety analysis. It uses AI-driven traffic agents to generate scenarios involving vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and static objects, supporting Vision Zero programs that examine accident rates, safety distances, and occlusion. Users can explore the resulting three-dimensional environment from static, driving, or aerial viewpoints and integrate outputs with external systems through open standards such as OpenDrive and OpenScenario. The platform draws on the same simulation engine Cognata applies to its automotive and defense product lines.

Bentley Systems' OpenRoads Designer is a civil engineering application for the 3D design, modeling, and documentation of road and highway projects. It combines survey data processing, terrain modeling, corridor design, and drainage and utility analysis within a MicroStation-based environment. The software generates plans, profiles, and cross-section sheets directly from the design model and supports import and export of formats such as DWG, DXF, LandXML, and IFC. It integrates with ProjectWise for file management and publishes designs to the iTwin Platform as data-rich iModels for collaborative review.
