Iris provides software for managing and analyzing data.
iris designs and manufactures the IRMA family of automatic passenger counting sensors, used in public transport worldwide since the company's founding in Berlin in 1991. Current lines are IRMA 6R2 and IRMA MATRIX, both using time-of-flight sensing to build 3D depth images and detect passengers alongside luggage, wheelchairs, strollers and bicycles. IRMA onAir is a cloud IoT platform that connects fleet sensors and exposes a Reporting REST-API for third-party business-intelligence tools rather than providing ridership analysis directly. iris sensors are resold inside several other products in this landscape.
ETA supplies automatic passenger counting as an integrated solution rather than a sensor of its own, letting agencies select from supported hardware or connect equipment already installed. Its Vehicle Logic Unit reads the sensors and transmits counts in real time to SPOT, ETA's cloud CAD/AVL platform, whose reporting engine produces tabular, graphical and analytical ridership reports. Tally is the survey, validation and NTD-certification layer, used to run sample trips and reconcile automated against manual counts. ETA deployed the first Xovis, then HELLA, APC sensors in the US in 2013 at Miami, Florida.
Passio Transit Passio TechnologiesPassio supplies automatic passenger counting as one module of a modular transit platform aimed at campuses, municipalities and specialised fleets. Counting runs on a ruggedised Android mobile data terminal, with fully automated counting available through a sensor partnership, and data flows to Passio Navigator, the cloud dashboard and reporting tool. Passenger data is recorded with time, date, location, stop, route and passenger type, and can be surfaced to riders through the Passio GO app. The wider platform covers CAD/AVL, automated voice announcements, LED signage and ID-card boarding validation.
GMV Syncromatics GMV SyncromaticsGMV supplies automatic passenger counting within its transit ITS platform, either installing a new APC system or integrating sensors an agency already owns. GMV Hub supports direct integration with iris, Hella Aglaia, Dilax, InfoDev and UTA sensors, so the counting hardware is third-party rather than GMV's own. Real-time passenger loads are viewable from the dispatch software, and historic ridership can be compared across routes and time periods. Reporting supports submissions to the National Transit Database.
