Passio Technologies provides AI-powered transit tracking and passenger information.
Passio supplies automatic passenger counting as one module of a modular transit platform aimed at campuses, municipalities and specialised fleets. Counting runs on a ruggedised Android mobile data terminal, with fully automated counting available through a sensor partnership, and data flows to Passio Navigator, the cloud dashboard and reporting tool. Passenger data is recorded with time, date, location, stop, route and passenger type, and can be surfaced to riders through the Passio GO app. The wider platform covers CAD/AVL, automated voice announcements, LED signage and ID-card boarding validation.
myAvail is a cloud-based Enterprise Transit Management Solution combining CAD/AVL, real-time passenger information, onboard vehicle hardware and the myStop rider app under a single login. Automatic passenger counting is one module alongside ADA announcements, fare collection and vehicle health monitoring, consolidated through one onboard data router. Avail installs APC sensors for agencies rather than manufacturing them; iris is a named partner. The company is employee-owned and headquartered in State College, Pennsylvania, and targets small and mid-sized agencies.
SLS-1000 DilaxDilax has developed and manufactured its own passenger counting sensors since 1988 and supplies both the hardware and the analytics layer. The SLS-1000 uses structured-light 3D sensing, with a laser projector and camera building a depth profile and integrated AI distinguishing people from bicycles and wheelchairs. An onboard counting unit stores and transmits data to a landside server, where Citisense combines it with timetable, location and third-party data to produce reports, forecasts and KPIs. Samplics supports sample-trip planning for partially equipped fleets.
Urban Transportation Associates Urban Transportation AssociatesUTA designs and supplies its own automatic passenger counting sensors and hardware, installed either by UTA staff or fitted by the bus manufacturer at build. Hardware diagnostics report device status and feed data-quality indicators into UTA's APC Analytics software, which uses IBM SPSS to generate bus and rail ridership analysis, service-exception handling and custom reporting. UTA states that every transit agency applying for NTD using its APC system has been approved, and it also provides NTD reporting software to other vendors in this landscape. Data exports to Excel, CSV, GIS and major scheduling systems, with direct ODBC access to the underlying database.
